Spend, spend, spend!

p style=text-align:justifyAusterity is the latest buzzword to emerge from Westminster, with politicians from all parties pulling serious faces and telling us we all have to tighten our belts, make sacrifices and various other financial clich#233;s. I’m sure they’re all right, but the problem is that the very word ldquo;austerityrdquo; now annoys me even more than the a href=http://www.printdesigns.compop up display/a ads that seem to appear every time you click on website these days. And before you telling me to disable my pop ups, I need to have them switched on for work so I can’t get rid of the annoying buggers! /p/p

p class=MsoNormal style=text-align:justifyAnyway, back to politicians and their austerity measures. Everyone I know seems to be getting slowly worse off, thanks to a combination of businesses freezing wages while shops have to increase prices to survive in the current climate. Irsquo;m not going to start bitching about how much MPs get paid and about none of them are suffering because of ldquo;austerityrdquo; - thatrsquo;s been done a million times before ndash; no, my rant today is more of a call to arms. A salute to those who just donrsquo;t know when to put down their purse or wallet. And who are probably a lot happier (in the short-term at least) because of it. /p/p

p class=MsoNormal style=text-align:justifyI decided last week that Irsquo;d had about as much as I could take of austerity and being told it was my responsibility to be financially cautious so we could all help the poor banks and the even poorer government out of the sticky mess. Screw that, I thought to myself, and promptly went out and bought a new TV, booked myself a long weekend in Madrid and spent a very relaxing few hours in the beauty salon. OK, Irsquo;ll pay for it when the credit card bill comes in at the end of the month, but by the time Saturday evening rolled around I looked and felt a lot happier than all those dour-faced MPs telling us to watch our pennies! /p/p
