Danger In The Workplace.
Over the last few years immigration has been a red hot topic in Britain. People are becoming increasingly concerned about the thousands of foreigners who are coming into our country.
Are they really coming here and taking away our jobs? Or is it more about them being willing to do the jobs that British people are not?
A few years ago I worked in a factory. Shifts were constantly messed up by workers ringing in sick on a regular basis. Only a few of these people were genuinely ill; it was normally a case of them just not wanting to come to work. This happened so often that it was becoming a farce. Management were getting fed up with it and production was way down.
What happened next was perfectly understandable. The company began to bring in Polish workers. These guys never rang in sick and worked far harder than anyone else. Things went a step further and management decided to get rid of a few of the lazy employees; they were replaced by more Polish men.
Production was up, profits were up; but so was resentment amongst the British workers. They didn’t like ‘the Polish taking away our jobs’. Effectively, they had shot themselves in the foot but they just couldn’t see it. Instead of facing up to things, they chose to nurture their dislike of immigrants.
I am not stupid enough to think that this was all an isolated incident. This is going on in towns all over the country. If people are not willing to be responsible and to work hard at what they do then employers will find someone else who will. This is not the fault of immigrants.
People need to stop being resentful. There is a lot of ill feeling going around and there have already been several attacks on foreign workers. People can be so naive; the BNP are becoming more powerful and racism is lurking in the shadows. Some very dangerous social elements are moving into place. It is all frighteningly reminiscent of the events leading up to the birth of Nazi Germany and Hitler’s terrible rise to power…
